Because All the Cool Kids Are Doing It
Not a wise candidate based on his choice of treasurer. A search for G. Schmalfeldt turns up a checkered history with paying bills.

Idiot can’t even spell “for”. And even comes off creepy in a campaign photo. You get the impression he’s not wearing pants with that sweater.

Gee, it’s not like Bill has ever mocked losing candidates himself, is it. /sarc

If he had managed to win the job, he would have only stayed for less than 2 years like all the other jobs on his resuume.
Kind of telling how everythng seemed to be under 2 years and then he was off to something else. Not something better, just something else.

Main Ave revitalization?
He might be the man to do it.
How many package stores were there at the time?

I can’t think of any other reason why he assumes that every other person who has lost an election will do anything he wants to get him to stop “mocking” them for losing.
Projection!!

“Sarah Mocks My Attempt to Run For City Council in 1995.”
My GOD, that asswipe writes like a pre-schooler.
You are indeed a simpleton, Schmalfeldt.

That’s right, spanky. Once more what YOU dished out is served BACK.

He is showing poor reading comprehension. She isn’t “mocking” the run.
Though why is he describing his campaign as merely an “attempt to run”? An attempt to run would be when one tried to get on the ballot and failed at some point in the process. Once one’s name is on the ballot, one is running. So his “headline” should be “… My Run for City Council…” or “…My Attempt to Win a Seat on the City Council….”
But given his own insistance that anyone who has lost a single election is forever a “failed political candidate”, people should be referring to him that way too.

Every citizen is entitled to run for office. There is no problem there. In fact, I commend him for wanting to proactively “do something” to help out his community and participate in its governance. More people should do so on the basis of their convictions.
The problem lies with his continual denigration of others for having the same outcome as his own foray into politics. He should append himself in the same way he does others, as you suggest LG. It would be equitable relief.

Eh. I don’t believe it was anything more than a feeble grasp at power; a chance to exercise his inner busybody. He simply lacks the character of a man motivated to good for others. He’s the worst sort of person you might find on a city council, school board, or HOA commission.

Did I say that *I* would have voted for him? That would have been a “no.” For those very reasons you mention AJ. lol

As usual, he takes it to the extreme. His interpretation of the post was way more negative than than the post actually was. Her only comment was to note he didn’t win his election. That’s IT??!! He viewed it as some type of attack, which it clearly was not.
Second, his response to our host was to send her one of the most disgusting tweets I’ve seen. His natural response to women is to show aggression and dominance. He clearly has some “mommy” issues he needs to work out. What a complete scum bag.

Mommy issues? I would think he exhibits behaviors more closely linked with a man who is terrified of a woman that is not some simpering pile of submission. He HATES when woman don’t do what he demands. He has shown that again and again in the vile way he speaks about them. He has issues alright. But his issues go WAY deeper then just what Mommy and Daddy (and possibly the Bobber) did to him in his childhood.

Yeah, that falls under “Mommy Issues”.
Among several other issues.

So, he mocks other citizens who run for office and don’t win, “failed political candidates,” but it’s incorrect to point out that BS ran for office and lost?

Willie seems to object to being called a failure. It’s going to be a fun trial. His professional career, his political career, his artistic career, his marital career, his parental career, and his performance as a pro se legal scholar will all be relevant to whether it is a reasonable opinion to deem him a failure. Now few are a success at all aspects of life, but even fewer fail at virtually everything they put their hands to. So whether it is legally reasonable to deem Willie a failure will necessarily involve examination of all that he has attempted as an alleged adult.

Second place is still a loser in an election, Bill.

I have no idea and less interest in what the votes were in Willie’s attempt to succeed at politics , but the votes could CONCEIVABLY have been A 1000, B 2, C 1, and D 1, and B could validly claim to have come in second in a four way race. It’s not a particularly rigorous standard.

You’re assuming Gail voted for him and he remembered to vote. How about 1000, 1 (misvote), 0, and 0?

Actually I was not trying to hypothesize about the actual election at all. Willie SAYS he came in second, but I am not sure that any credible evidence has been provided in support of that contention. I would not be surprised to find out that he ran in the wrong ward and received no valid votes at all, coming in no place.

He also seems to be offended about people allegedly abandoning their children. Actually, that makes sense in his case, since he did that to all of his kids. In fact, he never met his son from his first marriage up until the young man was 21! Imagine that! Father of the Year material.

The boy did a good job of avoiding him for 21 years though but his luck ran out.
