And So Begins My Christmas Season

Christmas Eve has always been one of my favorite times of the year. As a child, leading up to it, we counted down the days with an Advent Calendar. Saint Nicholas visited us on the 6th and put a book and some chocolate coins in our shoes.

But Christmas Eve was all that and a bag of chips. This was the day we put up ALL the decorations. They wouldn’t come down until Epiphany. All of the presents were also opened up on this night, and then we attended Midnight Mass. In the morning, Santa would have arrived, and put little gifts in our stockings. It was wonderful and magical and memories warm me to this day.

Here’s to wishing your Christmas Season is as merry and bright as they were for me as a child! A blessed season to you and yours!

To all the Christians who visit here:

Have a Merry Christmas. May the reason for this Holiday be on your mind, as you journey through the joys and trials of this very busy, but significant season. I hope you find some special peace and joy in the coming days.

Sounds like you and your family enjoyed a very nice, traditional Christmas, Zombie Mistress.

If you are one of the perpetually offended, you are hereby given each and every trigger warning required by the U.S. constitution, which in sum requires you to FLEE immediately lest you come all over queer. To the rest of you, I say sincerely, “Merry Christmas to all,” Christians and non-Christians alike.

  5. Merry Christmas, all.

All of my Schmalfeldt clan, from near and far, have arrived at the large vacation compound, safe and sound. The younger ones, and some of the older ones, yes, have gone to play in the snow. There are fires in the fireplaces of all the houses, all the decorations are up, wrapping of presents continues.

Some of the adults are focussed on cooking, others wrap up family business, and, after noon, the focus will be 100% on getting everyone reconnected, comfortable, and in tune.

Visits to elderly relatives and shut in friends this evening, caroling for those who can sing (not I!), and various ancient family traditions will be observed.

We have five new family members this year, one by marriage, and four infants, so there will be much merriment and photo-taking as they discover the Joys and Observations of a Schmalfeldt Clan Christmas!

To my fellow zombies and lickspittles, a wish for a joyous holiday.

For those who oppose us, a wish for enlightenment, and a thawing of their frozen hearts. It is never to late to repent, and join the company of the good.
