Who is he talking to? I have never said anything derogatory about his wife, and have never mocked his grief. I think family should not be ridiculed. I do, however, think it is unecessary for him to embellish the events surroipunding her death as time goes by. He cared for her until the end. That is enough for most people. Oh, and CONTEMPORANEOUS memorilizations of events are given credence over later recordings.

He can’t admit, even to himself, that his bullshit is mock worthy so he has to twist it around in his own head to make it something else he can rail about.

This is interesting. Mr. Schmalfeldt starts tweeting, PUBLICLY, on a social media platform, about his late spouse. HE initiated it, hurling accusations. When I noted here, not on his blog, and not in a tweet to him, that his previous blog post was inconsistent with his latest story, these inconsistencies are suddenly MY fault, not the fault of the man who wrote them. And apparently his subconscious is to blame, too, from what I can gather.

I have to ask, how often has his own bad public behavior been blamed (in his own mind) on someone else’s attempts to just document his own public statements via public media? We are supposed to read what he says, listen to what he says, and then when it seems to upset his sensibilities, just memory hole it because he has had his feelings hurt by his own very public behavior? What a lunatic!

All of them. We’ve got plenty of documentation – forums back 10 years, his DD-214 going back 30…
He’s textbook. I’d suspect he’s been told this by more than one counselor or therapist, especially before he was let go from the NHS. It’s possible, I suppose, that NHS could get rid of/give a bad review to a “decorated veteran” without it…. I’ve just *never seen it*. Not once you’re getting into the higher GS levels.
His own recollections and admissions are amazingly indicting, and he doesn’t realize it until it’s pointed out, then he denies that’s what he said, (until the next time he says something about it, and especially if hes’ replying to someone mocking him about his denial.)
Therapy *and* a change in mindset could make a huge change in his life. But until he’s forced into it – he obviously won’t analyze the need on his own – it won’t occur. It’s highly unlikely to if he’s forced – but it’s not impossible.
“You can’t begin to change until you hit rock bottom.” He’s not, yet, hit rock bottom.
But it’s getting closer. And it’s all of his own making and the only person responsible… is him.

Except that’s not what happened. Bill himself started tweeting, in great detail, the events surrounding his wife’s death. GM questioned his story, in a comment HERE, not on BIll’s blog and not in a tweet. Bill responded by calling GM a name, and telling him he was wrong. I posted Bill’s old post. And that is where he did a 180 and blamed others for “forcing him to relive” his wife’s death, when that is not what happened.
