Do You Even Reading Comprehension Bro?

“I was not told to ‘knock off with the emails.'”

Famous. Last. Words.

The actual text says:

“… Plaintiff sent an email to the regarding his Amended Complainnt addressed to  (the judges) assigned to this case. THIS WAS IMPROPER…. A PRO SE LITIGANT IS NOT PERMITTED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE JUDGES OF THIS COURT OR WITH THE CLERK OF COURT’S OFFICE THROUGH EMAIL.”

It doesn’t matter that Bill Schmalfeldt sent only one. He sent something improper. It got round-filed. (snort!) He was told:

“PLAINTIFF SHOULD REFRAIN FROM ANY ATTEMPT TO DO SO (send an email to the judges or the Clerk of the Court) IN THE FUTURE.”

That, zombies and zombettes, is what we call a BENCH SLAP. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

He should get the rules. Both local and the FRCP. Read them. Read them long and hard. And maybe, JUST MAYBE, Bill Schmalfeldt might figure out what he’s doing wrong.

Here’s a hint.

It starts with “Now comes Plaintiff Bill Schmalfeldt….”

Sure reads like “don’t sent emails EVAH!”

Arte you sure? Because he totally wasn’t told to knock off the emails. If you drink a quart of JWT and make 4 sizable dents in your skull with a ball-peen hammer, it probably looks like it says “Thank you for your email. Please feel free to send us more of them.”

Man is technically correct. He was not explicitly told to knock it off. Instead he was told that his behavior was “improper” and that he should “refrain” from doing it. Of course what he was told means to “knock it off,” but you cannot expect Willie to grasp complexities..
