He REALLY Doesn’t Like the Shoe on the Other Foot

Oh! A settlement offer! From Bill to WJJ Hoge over the defamation/conspiracy lawsuit that Bill is currently a defendant in. Why on earth would he publicize that he’s thinking of capitulating? Isn’t that showing weakness in his book?

You know, I seem to remember Bill thinking that yes, it is weakness not more than a month ago.

Like when John made Bill an offer in January.

At Bill’s request.

Oh. Oh my.

I wonder who’s weak now.

Welp! I guess we have our answer here. He is gonna PUBLICIZE IT ALL! And let the public decide. Actually, point and laugh is more like it. Mainly because Bill Schmalfeldt is the epitome of #vindictive.

And look! Our old friend Deadline Bill is back again! Less than 24 hours to respond. How… sudden!

Now, this makes a curious person ask: Why all the rush? This lawsuit has been going on for months at this point. Lawsuits usually do. Although Bill is probably used to shorter time frames because none of his lawsuits against other people got as far as John’s has gotten against him. Is Bill perhaps not wanting to get called on the judge’s carpet for not doing things he should have been doing? Things that he was ORDERED to do?

Interesting.

I know what I would do if I were in John’s shoes. Reject it outright. Not because I could avoid the trouble of a trial or anything like that. But for one simple reason.

You can never, EVER trust Bill Schmalfeldt to keep any of his promises. This lawsuit is a result of that. The last time John Hoge settled with Bill Schmalfeldt, Bill Schmalfeldt turned right around and did EXACTLY what the settlement agreement said he shouldn’t do.

Somehow I don’t think John Hoge is a stupid man if he doesn’t settle with Bill, no matter what is in the settlement agreement.

One is never, EVER required to settle a lawsuit. Now, sometimes it will prove to the judge the motivations of one party or another. But somehow I think that in this case it will go the way Bill Schmalfeldt thinks it will.

Especially seeing as how John Hoge already attempted to settle with Bill and Bill threw a complete conniption fit over it, complete with disparaging blog post/article as per his usual histrionic tactics.

Oopsie poopsie.

Now who is the one who will be revealed to the judge, Bill?

  1. Send it by Postal Service, with a return address. THAT might get Hoge’s attention.

It’s been ages since we had a most excellent Just Answer or AVVO Q&A session featuring our favourite faecal fixator. I suspect there are all sorts of panicked spluttering happening there.

As I commented on TMZ, it’s irrelevant what Mr. Hoge’s readership thinks at this point.

Cabin Boy pissed off the wrong guy, and now he’s going to get burned. There’s no more reconciliation, no more settlements. The ram has touched the wall.

You know it has been over 14 days since that “thursday deadline” and he failed to post his settlement offer. I know he is busy being Mr DJ in Clinton, IA, but he can’t be working 24/7.

I’m not by here very often these days, but I couldn’t help not adding my two cents when I saw this post and the comments.

It’s quite possible that Bill Schmalfeldt won’t follow through on his threat. Or maybe he will. In any event, the judge in John Hoge’s case will never be informed about anyone’s settlement offer or response to same. End of story.
